Born in New Zealand, Reuben currently lives in Australia. His first book, Birthed in Blood, was the result of his daughter Pyper asking for a bedtime story about dragons.

Little did he know that when he started writing, the story would evolve, over time, from a planned few pages to a fully fledged book series.
